Outfit + Oscars

Right so I said I would post those pictures of the skirt and cardi. However, I ended up finding a denim shirt (also my mum's) which matched the skirt perfectly so I've gone for that instead. Now, I was never really into the whole denim shirt look but I really like this one, as it's a thicker type of denim and not as flimsy as some of the ones I've seen. I threw this together quite quickly - literally in like 5 minutes - so I didn't accessorize or anything but when I wear it out, I'd probably add a colourful silk scarf, to keep in with the spring look, or a long necklace. I would've preferred to use a thin tanned belt but I couldn't find one that was suitable so I went for this thick elasticated one I got from Miss Selfridge about 2 years ago that I barely ever wear.

Now that's out of the way, I also wanted to share two of my favourite dresses from the Oscars, as I felt it would be appropriate. I don't know if copyrighting laws apply but I'd like to stay on the right side of the law so the following pictures are both from ELLE's website.

I absolutely adore this dress, and her style in general, from what I've seen. I love the detailing on the front of the dress. I also really like the way it's just short enough at the front to see the shoes, as it often annoys me, as a shoe fanatic, when you can't see the shoes. By the way, I love her shoes as well but silly ELLE failed to mention who they were by. Also, very jealous that she is going out with Shia LaBeouf - not because I think he's hot but because if they get married, she'll be called Mrs. LaBeouf.

Diane Kruger in Chanel Couture

Everything about this dress is just perfect to me. The blend of the peachy/nude colour and black, surprisingly, works really well. I also love the simplicity of it at the top and bottom, with the dramatic feathery section in the middle. It's a beaut ;)
