As you may or may not have guessed, I'm going to discuss plastic surgery in this post, mainly concerning Heidi Montag/Pratt (I'm not really sure what name she goes by). I realise this is probably slightly out-dated but it still shocks me how much her appearance has evolved over the years and, in true Carrie Bradshaw style, I got to thinking: why do people care so much about looking "perfect"? In my eyes, "perfection" doesn't exist, it is simply a term that exists to give us something to complain about. Noone is "perfect" and noone ever will be "perfect". When I think about how often celebrities get botched plastic surgery as a result of striving for perfection, I always wonder why they care so much. On the topic of botched plastic surgery, the obvious names always spring to mind: Joan Rivers, Michael Jackson, Priscilla Presley, Pete Burns etc. The amount of time and money these celebrities spend on their plastic surgery shocks me. Forgive me for being cheesy, but I think imperfections are what make people beautiful because it makes them real.
As I previously mentioned, Heidi Montag's plastic surgery is particularly ludicrous to me, simply due to the fact that, in my opinion, she was stunning beforehand. However, her motives for getting the amount of plastic surgery she has are rather dubious: was it simply just for media attention, which she clearly lives for, or did she genuinely believe she was unattractive? Either way, she has ruined her face and body, as well as wasting an incredible amount of money. Instead of improving her appearance, she looks like she has aged about 20 years in the space of only 2 or 3 years. I cannot understand, and probably never will understand, why anyone would go to so much effort to alter their appearance, just to eventually end up looking like a waxwork model.

SPOOOKY..
Just as I started typing this, I was looking up the lyrics for Holiday by Vampire Weekend, because I find their lyrics difficult to decipher sometimes, and it came on the radio. Yeah, weird, I know. While I'm on the topic, the album is fantastic. It's not quite as good as the first in my opinion but still brilliant all the same. I watched the repeat of Jools Holland this morning and they were so good on it. The line-up for that episode was one of the best they've had in a while I think: Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Corinne Bailey Rae, Metric, Crystal Castles (they were actually a bit weird though) and only Tom fucking Jones, who I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of but he's so funny. Here's the link if you want to watch it (UK residents only I think, sorry!).
Anyway, back to the point, I went out for tea last night with the girls to Yorokobi, a sushi bar turned restaurant, which was divine. In hindsight, I probably should have taken some pictures of the food but it didn't occur to me at the time. We will probably go back at some point anyway so I will do so then. The plan was to dress up a bit but looking back at my outfit it wasn't actually that fancy. Nevertheless, here it is:

Granite city where dreams are made of..
Just a little parody my friend Hannah came up with out on the town last night. This is just going to be quite quick, since I have to go to work in about 20 minutes. So I'm currently nibbling away at my leftover BK chips, where the night ended - the classy gals we are. We had a reasonably successful night, apart from some slight drama with a dickhead who is not worthy of any more discussion than this. We took lots of pictures, however only one properly shows my outfit (minus the bag and blazer) so i'll upload a couple. I had my hair cut a couple of weeks ago by the way but didn't have time to take any pictures of it as I had my exams so you can see it now. It's a lot shorter and there's a few blonde flashes but you might not be able to see them. Anyway, here you go:
Sex & the City? I think so.
Just having a wee dance, getting Hannah in the mood
Eat your heart out ladsss
A classy end to the night

Guess who's back...
I am free, officially and finally free. I had my last exam on Thursday so now I have a week to laze about and do absolutely no revision whatsoever, before going back to 6th year on 7th June. So I'm hitting the town tonight with a few of the gals for drinks so I should have an outfit and some other pictures on here tomorrow, if all goes to plan. For now, I'll do another "style crush" post, just because I love her so so so much: Florence Welch. She is amazing: her music, her style, her hair and just her. I love pretty much everything she wears so it was really difficult for me to narrow it down to just a few pictures to upload, but anyway here are a few of my favourite outfits:
I love the dresses she wears during her performances, which are always really floaty and dreamy. I'm so excited to see her at T in the Park in summer, I'm not missing her for anything! Although I think the stage she's playing is the best one on that day anyway as far as I remember, so lucky me :)
Also, just for giggles, this song is fast becoming my guilty pleasure of the summer, thanks to Greg James. It's just so funny and terrible, yet so catchy at the same time. I love the way he says "solo" like he has a speech impediment, big up the Derulo:

She ain't a robot yo.
Marina Diamandis
Anyway, this will probably be my last post until near the end of May because I really need to get revising for my exams, which start in around 2 weeks - scary. I'll try and do a couple here and there but they are likely to be very brief. However, I will be posting lots throughout summer to make up for it :)

I'll take you in pieces, we can take it all apart
Apologies for this post being later than promised, I'm just gonna blame it on the volcanic ash - it's severely affected my ability to function recently. Not really, I was just busy revising and watching the Formula 1, which was so good this weekend - very disappointed in Alonso's ridiculously obvious jump start though, he let me down. But I also didn't notice, until yesterday, how much of a babe Sebastion Vettel is becoming, he's not my usual type but he is adorable. He's also a brilliant driver by the way, I'm not that shallow. Anyway, I'll try and keep this post brief as I tend to ramble on and get really boring.
After knowing about these guys for a while, I was a bit skeptical about buying their album as I wasn't sure if I would be able to cope with a whole album in their genre. However, I had store credit for iTunes and, while browsing, noticed that their album had dropped in price to like £4.99 or something, I can't remember exactly. It is an amazing album and every song is so beautifully done. My favourites are probably Crystalised, Shelter and Basic Space but they are all lovely.
Sorry, I didn't have time to do an outfit picture as I literally had about 20 minutes to get ready when I got home from work before going out again. It wasn't a very interesting outfit anyway so you didn't miss out on anything. But anyway, I was quite surprised by the film, it wasn't what I was expecting really. I didn't have incredibly high hopes for it but it was actually really funny. However, there was a lot more killing and blood and guts then I was expecting - I was not prepared for it at all. Also, I wasn't aware you were allowed to say "the c word" in a 15 film, considering you aren't even allowed to say it past watershed on tv, especially since the girl who said it was only about 10, maybe 12 at a push. I don't really want to say much as I might spoil it or ruin the jokes but I would recommend going to see it, as it's really funny.

Kick-Ass

The Leader's Debate
Last but not least, the one you've all been waiting for. I'm actually really interested in politics and world issues so I apologise if not all of you are but you don't have to read what I have to say. First of all, I am in no way trying to influence those of you that can vote (I've still got about a year to go before I can unfortunately). Personally, I do not get David Cameron at all: I find his policies and his attitude completely ridiculous. In my opinion, he is a poncy twat. All he did, the whole way through, was repeat himself and quote all these people he supposedly met. God knows how he managed to make time to cycle all over Britain to meet this diverse group of people he was talking about. I also found it incredibly ironic how these "sources" seemed to back up every point he made. Most of all, I despise the Conservatives' plan to cap immigration, if they win the election. I understand that immigration is increasing and it could be a problem but would it not be easier to find ways of catering to immigrants by finding ways to create more jobs and more efficient housing where there are high percentages of immigrants rather than turning them away? I don't think it's fair that we have the right to deny someone a better lifestyle than the one they're living in. There's obviously a reason why immigration is high. I hate this attitude that people have towards immigrants here now. This whole "they're taking our jobs" belief is so pathetic. Generally, they work in the jobs that no-one here wants to do anyway because they have too much pride or are just lazy so, therefore, they have no right to complain. The fact that the opinion polls also suggested that the majority agree with David Cameron sickens me, it just proves how racist people in this country are becoming and it honestly scares me.
Overall, I found that Gordon Brown was the only one who seemed to know what he was talking about and actually make sense. However, I think he was trying too hard to be funny and improve his public image: I still don't understand why it's so bad in the first place though, I've never had a problem with him personally. Although I would give Nick Clegg credit, as I think he did quite well considering the fact that most people initially rule out the Liberal Democrats as contenders. Despite that, I'm still Labour all the way :)
Ok, so I tried not to ramble but I did anyway - I hope you know how much I condensed that last bit as well, I'm far too opinionated for my own good. I hope I managed to keep you reading though - I'll try and keep the content a little lighter next time, promise :)
